About the Firm

ProAxis Tax & Accounting Services is a fully virtual CPA firm headquartered at Hasbrouck Heights, NJ. The firm holds active CPA licenses in New Jersey and New York, holds AICPA membership, is an Authorized IRS e-File Provider, and is a Certified QuickBooks Online ProAdvisor. Founded by Dor Israel, CPA — a licensed CPA in both NJ and NY — the firm structures its practice around seven industry specializations: real estate, healthcare, e-commerce, construction, restaurants, non-profits, and professional services.

ProAxis is intentionally selective on client roster size. Engagement quality is prioritized over volume. Each ProAxis client receives quarterly check-ins (not just annual return preparation), proactive tax planning ahead of December 31, and direct access to a licensed CPA — not a junior preparer. This client model only works if the team operates the same way internally: each professional staff member owns their engagements end-to-end with CPA supervision built in, rather than serving as one of many handoffs in a workflow.

ProAxis hires selectively. The firm prefers experienced professionals who have already worked at a traditional firm and want a different model — fully virtual, NJ tax specialty depth, modern tooling, direct client relationships. New graduates and career-changers are considered case-by-case but not the primary hiring profile.

What Working at ProAxis Looks Like

• 100% remote. ProAxis was built virtual-first. Every team member works from home with full tooling support — no in-office requirement.
• CPA-supervised work. Every engagement is supervised by a licensed CPA. Junior team members work alongside CPA review — not as the only set of eyes.
• NJ specialty depth. ProAxis goes deep on NJ tax law (BAIT, CBT, GIT) and seven industry specializations. Generalist work happens elsewhere.
• Modern tooling. QuickBooks Online, encrypted client portal, e-signature, video meetings, sales-tax automation (TaxJar / Avalara). No paper, no fax machines, no in-person document handoff.
• Selective client roster. ProAxis deliberately limits the number of clients per CPA so engagements get proactive attention. Lower volume per team member than typical mid-market firms.

What ProAxis Looks For

• Active CPA license (NJ, NY, or both) for CPA roles; PTIN and IRS Form 2848 representation experience for resolution roles
• Strong attention to detail — ProAxis is built around fixed-fee engagements where errors cost the firm, not the client
• Comfortable with technology — encrypted portal, e-signature, video meetings, modern accounting software
• Direct, clear written communication — much of client interaction happens via email and portal messaging
